Each panorama
has a hidden scripture reference or hymn that characterizes the scene.  FHE idea - seach for the hidden references and read them together as a family!

These Panoramas were created with a still digtial camera, an 8mm fisheye lens, and a special panoramic head.  The photos were shot  in a 360 degree circle (4 or 6 shots around) + a sky (zenith) and ground (nadir) shot.  The stills were  then 'stiched' and converted into quicktime movies.

The "big white tent" was the starting point for most Sacramento Temple open house tours.

This image highlights the first day of the public Temple open house on July 29, 2006.  One major challenge was to keep the plants alive that had recently been planted in the withering heat around the Temple grounds.  Parts of the image- such as the three girls and the golf cart -were actually taken on August 25th at the same spot and later added to the image. The posed family appears to be photographing themselves!

Concrete finish work at the front gate of the temple.  Just over 10 million pounds of concrete was poured (including the foundation, walkways etc…) - enough to pour over 100 “regular” size driveways Zoom into the right to see workmen unloading wooden wall panels for the temple.  The TempleCam is mounted on top of the construction trailer.

This panorama captured as custom tiles are placed at the front entrance.  The star tile design is featured several times on walkways near the front entrance.  The ceiling and doors are stunning.  One construction worker appears in the panorama twice...

Panorama showing the workmen installing granite seating near the east face of the Temple. Elder Erickson, a construction missionary assigned to the temple is also featured in this image.

Oakland Construction created a small nursery near the southwest corner of the temple.  This 'temple garden' was recently planted around the grounds with the help of volunteers.

Area members of the church have done a marvelous job in preparing the Sacramento Temple Host Center.  The Center is a conversion of the Mormon Center Cultural Hall (formerly a basketball court).  The Host center is the final gathering place after the temple tour.  Two panoramas show the Host Center before and during the open house.

Sacramento Latter-day Saints have come to know and love the Oakland LDS Temple.
Here a newly married Sacramento couple pose for photographs on the upper level of the temple grounds
